What does my hair extension consultation include?
- It starts with 15-minute discussion on your hair type, your hair care routine and overall lifestyle and, most important, what you want to get out of hair extensions.
- After we’ve decided on this, we get the work done.
- First comes the colour match and installation and second, the styling, which is really important.
- In the end, you’ll step out of our salon with some simple tips to help you maximise your new look and length.
How long do hair extensions last?
Between six to 12 months (sometimes longer!). The extension brand you use, how you care for your hair at home and how well your extensions were added all make a huge difference here.
Does washing damage my hair extensions?
You can wash your hair with the hair extensions in. You need to be gentle, though. No more vigorous scrubbing allowed. Also, watch out for the protein base shampoo and conditioners. They can damage your extensions.
Is colouring my hair still an option?
You can colour your hair, but avoid lightening since it can damage your hair extensions. We’ll consult with you on hair colour and extensions.
Is blow drying, straightening or styling my hair still permitted?
You should think of your hair extensions as of your own hair and thus treat them the same: blow dry it, keratin, straighten it or curl it as you’re used to. There’s one thing you should be careful about: don’t expose your extensions to too much direct heat.
My hair extensions have fallen out. What shall I do?
Gather the strands that have slipped out with care and come back to the salon. The procedure to reattach them won’t last more than a few minutes and we don’t charge for this.
Do you do clip on hair extensions?
No, we don’t. Clip on extensions were originally designed for short term use, such as on a wedding day or photo shoot. Some people now wear clip in extensions and hope that they will go the distance, but they aren’t designed to.
